Laser marking is the process of permanently marking a surface using a focused beam of light. It can be performed using different types of lasers, including fiber lasers, CO2 lasers, pulsed lasers, and continuous lasers. LPM offers:

  • Laser engraving: deep and permanent marks that withstand abrasion
  • Laser etching: high-contrast permanent marks at a high speed
  • Serialization: engraving serial numbers on parts/components

Laser marking can be used on a variety of materials such as steel, aluminum, stainless steel, polymers, and rubber. It is often used to identify parts and products with 2D barcodes (data matrix codes or QR codes), alphanumerical serial numbers, VIN numbers, and logos.

Whether you are creating a Prototype or beginning full scale Production, Laser Process Manufacturing is your best source for a precision product.

Materials

The laser has become one of the most precise instruments in the fabrication world. The sophistication of this achievement in modern high technology provides a meaningful alternative to traditional cutting, scribing, drilling, marking, and scanning. There is no process more precise more economical, or more time efficient.
